Chen Liangyi, Director of Peking University’s National Biomedical Imaging Science Centre, visited The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in early October. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation under the Panoramic Digital Life international big-science programme.

Chen is a Boya Distinguished Professor of Peking University, and holds appointments at the University’s McGovern Institute for Brain Research and the Beijing Municipal Institute for Collaborative Innovation. He heads one of the installations of the Multi-modal Cross-scale Biomedical Imaging Facility, a national facility covering imaging at scales from molecules to whole organisms. He is also chief scientist of a key special project under the Ministry of Science and Technology’s National Key Research and Development Programme, and of an integrated project under the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s Major Research Programme.

In the talks the two sides exchanged views on the cooperation framework for Panoramic Digital Life. Both hope to continue the collaboration and will discuss the detailed arrangements further.
